(http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=25528&package_id=41710) there're two new set: Everaldo Kids by Thomas Zell Sylpholution by Lars Strojny and 1 updated tom 2.1.1 (10 new icons) by Thomas Zell About this Cygwin port: ---------------------- * Overview It is built on cygwin-1.5.5, Win2000 SP4+FAT32 with gcc-3.3.1-1, binutils-20030901, libtool-devel-1.5-3 and the following libraries: openssl-0.9.7c-1 gettext-0.12.1-3 libconv-1.9.1-3, aspell-0.50.3-1 openldap-2.1.25-1 glib-1.2.10 gtk+-1.2.10 gdk-pixbuf-0.22.0 Here are the configurations: Patches: -cygwin (main patch) -widechar (workaround for cygwin's poor i18n support) -utime (workaround for folder's timestamp on FAT/FAT32) -undelete (my hacking, to undelete a message) > $ CFLAGS=-O2 ./configure --prefix=/opt/gnome \ > --enable-aspell --enable-ldap --enable-openssl --enable-compface \ > --enable-trayicon-plugin --enable-spamassassin-plugin \ > --enable-image-viewer-plugin --enable-dillo-viewer-plugin --enable-demo-plugin > GnuPG : no > JPilot : no > LDAP : yes > OpenSSL : yes > iconv : yes > compface : yes > IPv6 : no > GNU/aspell : yes > Crash dialog : no > Plugins : clamav demo dillo-viewer image-viewer(gdk-pixbuf) spamassassin trayicon * Runtime requirements: requires(minimal): cygwin >=1.5.5 openssl-0.9.7 libintl2 >=0.12.1 libiconv2 >=1.9.1 libaspell15 >=0.50.3 libopenldap2 >=2.1.25 glib-1.2 >=1.2.6 gtk+-1.2 >=1.2.6 (for correct locale support, you need gtk+-1.2.10-20) gdk-pixbuf >=0.8.0 recommends: aspell-dict (aspell-en or other dict) compface sylpheed-claws-i18n (locale data, and documentation in other languages) sylpheed-iconset (themes) dillo (>=0.7.0, html viewer, needed for dillo plugin) spamassassin (anti-spam, needed for spamassassin plugin) clawav (anti-virus, needed for clamav plugin conflicts: sylpheed Dillo: also provided by the CyGNOME project. ClamAV: could be found from http://cygwin-ports.sourceforge.net. SpamAssassin: seems no cygwin port yet, but it's easy to build and install it http://www.cygwin.com/ml/cygwin/2002-05/msg01660.html http://www.exit0.us/index.php/SA%20using%20CYGWIN * Compface Compface support is enabled, but it is statically linked in, that's to say, compface is optional at run time. * locale support As Cygwin lacks good support for locales, we need some hacking work to make widechar locale (asian languages, e.g Chinese, Japanese) could be supported in the message view. This was done since 0.9.5, but you need the X_LOCALE enabled version of gtk+ port (i.e, gtk+-1.2 >=1.2.10-20 from cygnome project). (by David Huang, see -widechar patch) * Folder's timestamp When the messages changed in a folder, the summarization would not be updated automatically, unless your mailbox lies on a NTFS drive, as FAT/FAT32 would not update the modification time of a directory when a file in it changed. This is Fixed since 0.9.3(reported and fixed by David Huang, see -utime patch) * mbox support The mbox format support feature exists in old release of sylpheed-claws. But it is removed since 0.9.6claws48. Now it is reimplemented as a plugin, but still in experimental state ('It is called "experimental" but in the implementation of mbox folders is stable and won't trash your mbox.' says the author.) and not included in the official release. You can download the source from http://sylpheed-claws.sourceforge.net/plugins.php. Since 0.9.9, this plugin is available in the Cygwin port(since 0.9.9). Just load plugin mailmbox and mailmbox_gtk, now you can add mbox via the menu '/File/Add Mailbox/mbox (etPan!)...' * Plugins Plugin support is enabled since 0.9.0's Cygwin port. The following plugins are available: demo: Only a demo of how to write plugins for Sylpheed. dillo-viewer: Enables the viewing of html messages using the Dillo web browser. You need 0.7.0 or newer version of dillo. image-viewer: Enables viewing of attached images. It replaces the previous built-in image viewer spamassassin: Enables the scanning of incoming mail received from a POP account using SpamAssassin. trayicon: Places an icon in the system tray that indicates whether you have any new mail. Clam AntiVirus: Enables the scanning of message attachments in mail received from a POP, IMAP or LOCAL account using Clam AntiVirus. mailmbox: It enables handling of mbox format folders. [see detail above] The following plugins are not available: MathML Viewer Other Info ----------- * Locale data and FAQ/Manual documents in other language(non-English) moved to package sylpheed-claws-i18n. * Default web browser changed to 'dillo %s'. You can change it to your favorite browser in Configuration->Common Preferences->Other->External commands. * The tools collection packaged into /opt/gnome/share/sylpheed/tools. There are action scripts, addressbook and mailbox conversion tools, and some other useful tools there. * Switching between Sylpheed Claws and Sylpheed Please read README.claws in /opt/gnome/doc/sylpheed-0.x.x for detailed info about switching from Sylpheed to Sylpheed Claws or the reverse. * Win32 'native' port You can found it from Sylpheed-claws' homepage. Make sure you have glib-devel, gtk+-devel, gdkpixbuf-devel installed. Note that to ensure DLLs could be correctly generated, your binutils and libtool-devel should be new enough, I used libtool-devel-20030216 and binutils-20030307. For ssl support, you need openssl openssl-devel For aspell support, you need libaspell15 aspell-devel-dev For ldap support, you need minires minires-devel gmp openssl openssl-devel libopenldap2 openldap-devel For compface support, you need 2.
